Public Safety

Please be advised that alcohol is strictly prohibited from the Makah Reservation. This law will be heavily enforced throughout the duration of Tribal Journeys 2010. Additionally, K-9 Drug Units (Drug dogs) will be on location during Tribal Journeys, and as an attendee, you, your vehicle, and campsite may be subject to search by these units.

Certain areas within Neah Bay will be classified as "No Parking Zones". Please look for signs before you park, as your vehicle may be towed should you park in these areas.

The Makah Tribe has a dangerous dog law, which prohibits breeds of Rottweiler and Pit bulls within the reservation boundaries. If you own either of these two breeds of dogs, please make alternate arrangements for their care and do not bring them with you to Neah Bay.

Bring enough of your own medication for your visit

There is no public pharmacy in Neah Bay. It is important to bring enough medication.

Medical Information

Please have all your Canoe Family members and all elders attending with your Canoe Family fill out the Personal Wellness Sheet and carry with you on the trip to Neah Bay. Should an emergency arise, this information will allow any emergency responders, physicians, pharmacists, and other medical personnel attend to your medical needs more easily. Please bring your doctor's name and contact information in case of emergency.

All visitors should be up-to-date on all immunizations.
